    Swedes say "marriage for everybody"

    The Swedish parliament, by an overwhelming majority, has finally reached the conclusion that it’s silly to have two differently-named-but-otherwise-identical legal arrangements for couples who want to form a family.

    Starting May 1st, full civil marriage will be an option for same-sex couples, who have been able to enter “civil partnerships” in Sweden since 1995.

    I could not be prouder of my adopted country.

    Now if only I could get Dr. Darling on the bandwagon!
