This is a special message to the 3 or 4 people I haven't completely driven away from this blog in the last couple days. My absentmindedness, combined with a recent server upgrade at Twitter, resulted in an accidental auto-posting loop.
My 11 loyal readers, especially those who subscribe to my musings by RSS feed or e-mail, have probably noticed a bit of a jump in the number of posts over the last 24 hours.
In addition to blogging regularly, I also read a number of blogs about blogging. This is because I'm a semi-closeted super geek. But also because I'm something of a new media junkie.
Props to my pal MisfitDuck for alerting me to a MUCH better Stortorget webcam than the one I had previously linked under the "Potentially Useful" heading near the top of the right-hand sidebar. This one is capturing the city's main squa
Sometime on Sunday, the hit counter here at ShazzerSpeak crossed the half-million mark. Of course I realize that not all of those hits represent actual readers. As many as half of them may not even be human!
Okay, so I've had some occasional complaints that ShazzerSpeak takes f o r e v e r to load, and after a little research I concluded that it's probably because of all the third-party widgets that are plugged into the sidebars.
My blogging buddy The Rat "tagged" me to do an entry about "Why I Blog" over a week ago, and I'm just now getting around to it because, you know, I've got this Master's in Procrastination that has to be used sometime
...for awhile anyway. It's been a month since I decided to try running a few text ads on ShazzerSpeak and I'm not sure whether to be proud or embarrassed by the results.
Eagle-eyed ShazzerSpeak readers might have noticed a couple of new additions to the right-hand sidebar in recent weeks, namely a pair of widgets from a service called MyBlogLog.
A few eagle-eyed readers have noticed the pink badge in the left-hand sidebar and have asked about it. Earlier this month, some kind and possibly slightly imbalanced person submitted ShazzerSpeak to a Lesbian Blog of the Year (2006) contest.
A lot of the professional blogging sites I read have been featuring New Year's Resolution-themed posts with all kinds of suggestions for improving your blog.
I've scored two red stars on the calendar today! The first because it's my second anniversary with my kick-@$$ hosting service Blog-City. And the second because sometime over the last 24 hours my hit-counter recorded a cool quarter of a million visit
ShazzerSpeak has a kick-@$$ new banner thanks to the multi-talented Dr. Darling. She's been on a bit of a Photoshop jag lately, and the image gracing the top of the page is one of her more whimsical creations.
I'm writing this entry from a special window that I can open directly from a new open source browser called Flock. It's supposed to make blogging easier with special tools that allow you to basically drop and drag pretty much anything you want
If this works, it will be the 1st time I've ever posted from my mobile phone. And if sending e-mail is as tedious as sending text messages, I can pretty much guarantee that I won't be doing it very often!
Not that I don't appreciate *every single person* who takes the time to surf by here, but check out the entry on my blog board (in the right side-bar, about halfway down the page)!! It's a message from the author of one of my all-time favorite blogs,
