"Plop, plop, fizz, fizz, oh what a relief it is!"

    posted Tuesday, 22 November 2005

No, I don't have indigestion...but the relief I felt in FINALLY shipping the Stockholm Guide to the publisher in London reminded me of the classic Alka-Seltzer jingle.  (Nevermind that I'm old enough to remember it in the first place.)

And actually, the work is not *completely* done yet.  One of the many tasks of a fact-checker is to come up with replacements for attractions (museums, theaters, galleries, etc.) that have closed or relocated.  This is tougher than it sound because the book is organized geographically, so if something closes in Östermalm, for example, it has to be replaced with something else in that part of the city. And because these guides are EXTREMELY thorough to begin with...coming up with attractions that aren't already listed is huge pain-in-the-ass challenge. So I'm still working on replacing two museums...but I can send that info to the revisions coordinator by e-mail, thank God.

And tonight, Dr. Darling and I should be hoe-ing out the apartment in preparation for her mother's arrival on Thursday, but for some reason (???), neither one of us can get our butts off the couch!
