I have no idea if it was intentional or not (I know absolutely nothing about her politics), but Beyoncé's latest single is THE perfect theme song for today's midterm election in the United States:
"To the left, to the left, everything you own in the box to the left..."
I heard "Irreplaceable" for the first time about a week ago (I'm in Sweden, remember?) and was completely charmed by it's unusual tempo and wide-ranging melody. But I didn't really get around to listening to the words until this morning when it (prophetically, I hope) came on the radio as I was walking to the central station.
You must not know about me
You must not know about me
I could have another you in a minute
matter fact he'll be here in a minute - baby
You must not know about me
You must not know about me
I will have another you by tomorrow
So don't you ever for a second get to thinking you're irreplaceable
I hope Americans across the country hear this song on their way to the polls today...if not on the radio, then at least in their heads.
To the left, indeed.
isn't that a tracy chapman song in the background? The beat sounds really
familiar. It is sampled from something.
No idea. But the more I listen to it, the more I love, Love, LOVE this
song.
well, I won't hold your musical tastes against you. lol
That's good...because I've never held yours against you! ;^P
:P
