    What is it about cowgirls?

    I have memories of being very unsettled by Sharon Stone's appearance as a gunslinger in "The Quick and the Dead" and not being sure why.  I couldn't take my eyes off her, and it was weird because the film was in all other ways pretty mediocre...despite the presence of Gene Hackman, Leonardo DiCaprio, Russell Crowe and Gary Sinise.

    Now, 12 years later, I have no illusions about why I'm completely rattled by Charlize Theron's recent Vogue spread.

    Which is not to say I'd have any idea what to do if I ever found myself alone in a room with her.  I'd probably just stare...slack-jawed and paralyzed from sheer awe.
